How can I get a job in animatronics?

I think this is a career I would love and be good at but I don't know where to start.

Until recently there weren't courses or qualifications in animatronics, but now you can enroll in a program at many engineering schools and learn from pioneers who are self-taught in this field. Before then, many of the "greats" recommend experimenting on your own with robots and puppets to gain experience.

A job in animatronics starts with a career in engineering. The first step is to secure a degree in the field. The next step is to apprentice or secure a job in the field. You will follow the normal course of apprenticeships and working your way up the ranks until you succeed.

First you need to go to art school and study animation. Then find an entry level job in Hollywood - you can't start at the top.

Try your local community college first. Many offer entry level courses in simple engineering as well as mechanics. Animatronics is rarely offered as a single course.

Get some experience in the field and you will have to go to school and take some courses on this field to be successful. First gain the necessary knowledge and then gain the actual skills that you need to do well. Some experience will be necessary and knowledge as well.

You should first try to go to school and get a degree in digital arts and then you can apply for a job in animation.

a lot of the answers here seem to be about animation, but is animation the same as animatronics? Looking online, most places seem to point to Bachelor Degree in Science and Engineering
