How can I fix an open ground electrical circuit?

Answer by  Sparky101 (366)

You must determine where the ground conductor is open with a continuity tester then repair the open. Make sure the circuit is off at the source before attempting to perform this work.

Warning! Do not attempt to repair electrical or related problems if you are not qualified to do so! However, if you are still eager to do it yourself, then first turn-off or unplug the circuit (switch off the main breaker if you want). After that, carefully wind insulation on the exposed wire by using a vinyl electrical tape.

You are going to have to trace down where the circuit goes, which may not be too easy since there may be a few junction boxes.
