How can I fix a squeaky car window?

My car window was left down in the rain, and now it squeaks when it's being raised or lowered. How can I fix this?

Remove the door panel. Locate the power window track that the window slides past when it comes down. Lubricate the track liberally with the window up. Roll the window up and down a few times. Replace the interior door panel by matching the clips with the corresponding holes. You may have to push it hard to pop the clip back in.

Either lubricate the window seal around the base of the window or replace them. Unless it squeaks inside the door. Then you need to go inside the door and lubricate the regulator and rails. Make sure you don't get any on the window because it is a pain to get back off.

There is a spray-type silicon lubricant for about $4 at an auto part shop. It doesn't damage rubber and works well for squeaking windows. Get a cloth and spray enough of the lubricant onto it and rub over the rubber lining on door and the car body squeaking stops.

This really is an easy fix. Pick up a can of silicone spray and carefully spray it on the window channels on each side of the window. Then run the window up and down and repeat the process one more time. That will cure the squeak.
