Andrew, it would help if you mention which part of the world or the USA you are from.

Getting construction material at cost for an individual will be difficult. See if you can tag along with some construction company that is buying the same material and get some surplus from them at discount rates. This may involve a lot of running around and haggling! May be a pain!

If you need construction materials at cost price you will need to contact the wholesale dealer. Look up your yellow pages or an internet classifieds in your locality. Also look at surrounding areas and balance out the transport costs if you get better rates.

first the design should be made with local and cost effective materials. the locally built materials are found at very cheap price. choose materials that are easily maintainable and long lasting. construction site and plan should be measured properly to find out at what quantity of material is needed so that no wastage can be happened.

Your best bet is to make friends with a contractor. Place an ad asking for a currently licensed contractor to take you around to supply houses in exchange for $50 a day or so. Require that they have current accounts with suppliers and you should be able to save a bundle.

In most states, you need to have a tax ID to allow you to purchase materials at wholesale prices. Laws vary from state to state, so look up yours.

Aw! I didn't know that. Do you need a registered company or something like that to purchase at wholesale rates? Or will an individual with a tax ID be eligible?  add a comment
