The ball used in high school softball is 12 inches in diameter. There is no difference in size in the balls used in high school, college, or adult recreational softball. The balls may differ in compression factor and the size of their polycore, but they are the same size externally.

NO WAY. 12 inches is one foot which is more like a basketball.  add a comment

12 inches might be correct but as a circumference, not a diameter.  add a comment

The typical pitch speed in fastball softball is about sixty five miles per hour. That is at the collegiate or professional levels. At a high school level or lower the speed is about 50mph and lower. Most fastballs are actually only in the high 60's or low 70's.

The ball that is used in high school is twelve inches. High school varies from competitive or adult teams, depending on the league. Some leagues use twelve inch softballs while some also use sixteen inch softballs.
