The best and recommended oil type that you can use on your Yamaha kodiak is the Yamalube Performance All Purpose 10W-40. This oil is highly recommended by Yamaha for use on Yamaha motorcycles and ATV's, because it meets the highest standards to guard your engine and give efficient clutch performance.

I would recommend using synethic oil through K&N. It is a great oil to use when it comes to faster performance for a high performance bike. This bike will require frequent changes if you are planning on racing this bike.

Any brand just get 20w-50 for the summer and 10w-40 for the winter. You want a thicker oil in the summer for protection and a thinner oil in the winter for easy start up. Honestly you don't need to buy yamaha, suzuki, polaris, and kawasaki oils. They are all the same believe me I know.

for a Yamaha Kodiak, and for most engines, conventional oils don't do the engine justice. The synthetics oils have a longer break down time thus lasting longer under hotter temperatures and lasting longer through more miles.

Yamaha recommends 20W40 but it is rare to find. Your best bet is 10W40 for the winter and 20W50 for the summer. Any brand name will do, just don't go for the cheapest available, just in case.

Any brand but you can't beat 10W40 or 20W50 is also a nice heavy duty oil over W40. One is for summer months the other for winter.

Depending on the year I would use the Yamalube 10W 40 or 20W 50. The Yamalube is what the manufacturer suggest in the owners manual and is designed for it.

The best type of oil for that machine is Yamalube 20W50. That is the oil that comes from the factory in the machine and is the best oil choice for that unit. The thicker viscosity oil selection is best for utility vehicles due to the heat that is created by the valve train.

That depends on what you mean by best, obviously the best would be what the manufacturer recommends. But you might also check what the best oil is by type recommended.
