Anyone who would like to apply for U.S. citizenship must have been a legal, U.S. resident for at least five years. It does not matter how you obtained your green card.

Citizenship for all the people can get only after the stay of 3 years. So after 3 years if we stayed in that country, we can easily apply for the citizenship. There is not any hard rule to get green card. Only we have to submit the application in the canadian Govt. office.
