Pet carriers should be chosen according to the weight of the dog. For a tiny breed like a Yorkie, a small, extra small, or a Teacup size would be appropriate, depending upon the size of the dog. If the dog is being shipped, the carrier needs to have enough room so the dog can move around freely.

Anytime you are looking for a crate/carrier for your dog, it should only be big enough for them to stand up, turn around, and lay back down again, no bigger.

Most carriers have breed guidelines on their labels. A carrier should be big enough for the dog to stand up and turn around, but it shouldn't be much bigger than that.
