By rolling up several software fixes and integrating the Cloudmark engine into version 9. 0 of Antigen, it is intended to reduce the amount of spam received on your Exchange server, but it is virtually impossible to eliminate all spam without imposing strict restrictions on filters that can potentially block out wanted email in addition to spam.

It helps catch spam at the host level, it will still come to your network but it will not get opened or passed onto your clients. It does have false positive from time to time so you will need to verify that it didn't filter out valid emails, this is pretty painless.

The software is capable of reducing a significant amount of spam from an Exchange inbox. Proper updates and software utilizations must be configured to achieve this goal. The level of protection is specified by the user. Tinkering with preferences cautiously would give a user an idea of what they wish to eliminate.

Yes, it is designed to recognize and filter spam. The accuracy of the recognition pattern matching is very dependent upon frequency, industry standard black lists and technology support provided by on site staff for adding content filters on non standard spam traffic.

The Microsoft Antigen Spam Manager feature within the Antigen product uses the third party "SpamCure" spam filtering engine from Mail-Cure to filter SMTP traffic on either an Exchange Server or at a mail choke point within a network to try and flag or remove spam emails from passing into an enterprise.

Microsoft's Antigen is an email secutity suite that does attempt to stop spam email. Nothing can stop spam completely, but it does a good job.

It does actually stop certain different types of spam mail from different types of companies. Some other types of junk or spam mail may also find a way to get through.
