Yes. Under Florida law, anyone convicted of three felonies must be sentenced to life in prison. The Florida law gives judges no discretion to grant leniency, and instead requires a life sentence on the third felony conviction, regardless of circumstances.

Florida has has a "three-strikes" law since July 1, 1999. The law requires "career criminals" so serve the mandatory minimum prison terms. The law requires that a judge sentence a "three-time violent felony offender" to a prison term of five years to life, depending on the nature of the crime.
