Since sugar is a preservative, cotton candy will not 'go bad' or be unsafe to eat. It will begin to taste stale after several months, especially in humid climates or if left exposed.

Since cotton candy is just spun suguar, it should last pretty much forever. The biggest threat to cotton candy is water, even in the form of humidity in the air.

Sugar when properly stored does not become stale. If the cotton candy has been kept in an air tight, dry container or bag it will last for a very long time.
