A clothes washer does not have a lint filter like a dryer. Dirt and lint are washed away in the water. The agitator helps loosen this dirt and lint. dryer has a lint filter because it sucks out hot air and a clog could damage the dryer and even cause a fire.

Washers do not have lint filters. Dryers have lint filters to prevent help prevent lint off of your close from clogging the exhaust pipe from the dryer. Cleaning the lint filter by taking it out after each load and removing the lint from the screen will increase the efficiency of your dryer.
