Do you trust estimates for body repairs?

Estimates for body repairs are dependent on the trustworthiness of the shop giving the estimate. They can vary wildly depending on the quality of the work. If you are paying out of pocket, let the shop know, as they will often inflate the estimate for insurance companies.

Yes. Body repair estimates are generally prepared using standardized costing manuals that contain both the cost of replacement components and the amount of time typically required to install and paint said components. When estimates are gathered from several different body shops, the bids will often be found to be within several hundred dollars of each other.

It really depends on the shop itself. Do some research on it. If a lot of people say they are a good shop then they probably stick to there estimates. Sometimes though un-preventable thing can happen that may cause the price to go up so always allow for a little more expense. Don't trust just any shop though.

You would have to shop around to see which estimate is the best. You need more than one though, so you can find the best deal to repair it.
