I think that whilst earth signs generally have a bond between them (because of the shared element), the true teller of compatibility is can be found in the venus-mars and mars-venus relationship between the two.

my son's father is a virgo and i'm a capricorn ...we always argue and fight ...we don't get along.... virgos don't get along with capricorns at alll. virgos are they ones with the most temper... they lose there temper easily alot....
