The itchyness of a rash is not the characteristic that gives it away that it is lyme disease. The characterisitic feature is called erythema migrans, or the fact that it is a taretoid looking lesion. Regardless, if you are worried about lyme you should see you doctor as it is treatable.

Typically, Lyme disease presents as a localized bulls-eye area of redness where the tic bite occured or a large splotchy redness on various areas. Typically neither are itchy.

Lyme disease typically has a bulls eye rash. But this is not fail proof. The bulls rash can itch for an entire lifetime even after treatment.
