Do montipora coral grow well in an aquarium?

Honestly it depends on a few factors such as lighting, flow and water quality. A protein skimmer is a plus. Montipora caps are the easiest corals of SPS to keep so most likely they will do fine in your tank. Depending on if you have T5 or Metal Halide lighting.

They can actually grow quite large in a brightly lit environment, though they do not require the specialty halide lamps. They are tolerant of varying conditions and more stress resistant than other corals, making them less likely to endure coral bleaching. Also, don't forget they need a saltwater tank and need water flow.
