Do miniature Yorkie's have specific health issues?

They are sometimes called "teacup Yorkies."

"Teacup Yorkies" and "Mini Yorkies" are not real breeds, merely small Yorkies bred by irresponsible breeders. The bad breeding often leads to frail bones, bad backs, and other genetic disorders, as well as the other Yorkie problems of eye infections and respiratory issues.

Yes, "teacup" dogs often have major health problems because they are not well-bred dogs. Heart disease, dental disease, luxating patellas, kidney and liver problems, and eye problems are most common.

Really the health issues that affect the Yorkie can affect all dogs but somethings to look out for is the Yorkie's knee caps, possible liver problems, eye problems, and any respiratory problems.

My step mom has 4 and they have never had any real issues as long as you take the faithfully to get its shots and feed them right.
