No, because the TV is designed to compensate for noise on the power line. Just make sure it is kept one foot away from speaker cables. Speaker cabling is worth while to have shielded. Power lines deliver power at 60 cycles per second which could cause a slight humming from speakers.

A shielded cord is not required for a Plasma Screen TV but is definitely recommended. An unshielded cord has a higher risk of becoming damaged which could damage the TV.

No, but if your getting fuzz or lines across your TV especially from devices like a cable box. Then unshielded cables could definitely be the problem. Interference from unshielded cables can reduce the quality of video from your TV.

A shielded extension cord is not required to fully operate a plasma TV at its full potential. It will not improve the signal or image of your TV by just having a shielded extension cord.

Well if you have a lot of interference with you picture then it might be a good idea. Other devices around it may cause problem especially if it is a long rung from the plug to the tv.

If you mean shielded from emi or electro magnetic interference, its not nesecary, but it may lead to a better picture quality but it isn't strictly necessary for it to work, its up to you.

Plasma TV do not require a shielded extension cord as it is already having mechanism to tackle noise that may arise in the line.
