Yes, you are legally obligated to pay any debts on unsecured credit cards. They let you borrow the money on the expectation that you would pay them back. This is not free money. Not paying a debt can lead to a lawsuit and garnished wages.

Yes, unsecured debts have to be paid. Changes in bankruptcy law do not allow most filers to have unsecured credit cards discharged. In addition, you may be sued if you fail to pay.

Unsecured credit companies may not confinscate any goods purchased. They can sue you, use ordinary collection techniques, and report you to the credit bureau.
