It depends entirely on the contract you signed. Most contracts that pass along mineral rights will explicitly say that. If not, you'll have to check with a lawyer.

Mineral rights based on land ownership or lease? Are there other leases of property regarding minerals and in conjunction with this question, were ownership of ground and below ground divided in any way at any point.

I live in North Carolina and I should not have mineral rights in Ohio. My father lives in Columbus, Ohio and as a state resident should have mineral rights. He has been a taxpayer for more than 40 years. I believe all Ohio state residents should have mineral rights as taxpayers.

You may if you own property there. You will have to check Ohio statutes, your deed, the title. You will also have to ensure you haven't given them away.
