Do dentures hurt?

If not, why don't you keep them in all the time?

New dentures may hurt in the first few days. Once you become adjusted to them, they will be more comfortable. Although your dentist may advise you to keep your dentures in over night during the adjustment phase, that is temporary. Normally, your gum tissues need the rest during the night.

Dentures generally do not hurt. They can hurt in the beginning, as you are unused to them, but if they are a good fit, they will feel fine. People take their dentures out during the night because not only is it good dental hygiene, but it also allows your oral tissues to rest.

The can be uncomfortablr if they fit poorly and rub. Taking then out at night is good hygiene - allowing oral tissues to breath/rest . Like not sleeping in socks.

dentures hurt if worn for the first time, if they do not fit well and if there are sharp edges in the dentures. They are not worn all the time especially when sleeping because people might swallow it.
