Do alcoholics have dry mouth?

You don't HAVE to have a dry mouth to be an alcoholic, but it could definitely be expected. Alcohol acts as a diuretic. A diuretic removes water (that's why drinking makes you have to go to the bathroom a lot). One who drinks a lot could reasonably be expected to suffer from dry mouth.

Yes most of the Alcoholics have a dry mouth. This is basically a effect of the consumption of alcohol on regular basis. Some alcoholic people say 1-2 out 10 might not suffer with this problem but mostly the long term alcoholics have a dry mouth. In very rare cases alcoholics might not suffer from dry mouth.

alcoholics do have dry mouth and this is due to dehydration. alcohol severely depletes a bodies fluids. a lot of water and gatorade can help but it takes time.
