Can you tell me what I need to start an aquarium and give me suggestions for colorful fish?

Obviously you need a tank with a filter and light. You will need chemicals to treat the water, fish food, and tank decorations. Thats the very basic needs. The size of the aquarium will dictate which fish you can purchase. Guppies however are colorful and easy to care for.

The most important step will be to choose the tank size and stand. Bigger is generally better when purchasing a tank. The larger the tank the more fish you can keep. Next step will be a filter, heater, air pump, substrate and decor. A community tank is the best.
