Beta blockers are generally safe during pregnancy. Atenolol is preferred over Coreg. Be advised there is a risk of a low weight baby, however.

Many medications are considered dangerous to a developing fetus. This question is best left up to your ob/gyn. If you are thinking about getting pregnant and have to take a medication, they will know what effects the medication can have on your possible baby. Sometimes safe alternatives can be found for what you need as well.

There hasn't been enough studies on the effects of beta blockers and conception. During pregnancy they can cause the baby to grow slower. Risks off HBP should first be considered.

It is recommended that you not take them in the first trimester of pregnancy. There are other medications that are safer to use.
