Can you take a White Cloud minnow from a stream and put in an aquarium?

I have a couple of White Clouds in my tank and see them in all the time in lakes and streams.

Yes the minnows will probably do fine in an aquarium. I had a group of about five minnows that I kept in my aquarium for several years, and they grew fairly large in size. They are easy fish to care for, requiring minimal care and will do fine eating tropical fish flakes.

I have done this before, and I don't think it would hurt anything, however because they are "wild", I would not put them in with an existing population of fish.

Check into State fishing regulations in your area before taking fish from a stream. If its legal to do so, wild fish are very entertaining and do well in fish tanks. Be sure to make the habitat suitable for the fish and similar to the stream you got them from

Technically, you probably could, though the likelihood that it would survive is questionable at best. You also have to be aware of federal, state, and local laws that deal with taking wildlife from its natural habitat and keeping it. In many places, if you get caught doing that, you can get yourself into big trouble. Do your research first, please.
