Can you help me troubleshoot hot water heater problems?

If you aren't getting any hot water you may want to check that your heater is on. If there is power to it, you can check the heating elements for power. Usually, if there is no hot water, but there is power to the unit, then the elements or the thermostats are bad.

Yes. Most Hot Water heater problems are caused by bad elements (the part the actually heats the water). If these are functioning, the problem may be with the thermostats on the side of the tank. All these parts are inexpensive and replaceable.

There are several things that can go wrong with a water heater. The best place to start is by checking the elements for power with a multimeter.
