To make the best use of a grounding rod, first use one made of copper, next drive the rod into the ground leaving only about 12 to 18 inches exposed.

first of all make sure the power to whatever you are connecting the ground rod is off. You will need about a two foot rod to drive into the ground. Make sure there are no underground wires or pipes, drive the rod into the ground and secure wire with clamp.

this is how you can install a ground rob. you have to place each rod at least 6 feet apart and have them connect with a ground wire then connect the wire to the meter base
