Iron Horse was a mid-range brand of Mountain Bikes available from 1987 to 2009. The bikes were far higher quality than department store bikes, but designs and quality were not quite up to par with the finer brands. Iron Horse Bikes are no longer available in the USA.

Iron Horse Mountain Bikes are a mid-range brand of bikes that are pretty good for the average price paid. Definitely a large step above your average wal-mart bike, but not quite as high quality as the steeds you'd find in an independent bicycle retailer's shop.

Iron Horse was once a great and innovative American downhill, all mountain, cross-country and freeride mountain bike company. They were sold to Dorel Industries in 2009. You can't even buy an Iron Horse bike now. When Dorel manufactures them using the logo, they'll be made in China and be unlikely to be as innovative as the original Iron Horse bikes.
