When transportation costs are low, tasks and manufacturing migrate to low labor cost locations. When costs of transport are high or have just in time manufacturing, it stays local.

The Trade patterns in international business is determined upon the country's resources and the country's financial standing. The country will export food or materials that the country is able to provide for itself. While imports helps the country with what they are not able to provide for themselves.
