It is possible to do this at home yourself, but it involves a lot of trial an error until you get the timing just right. It's best to take it to a professional so they can use their computers to test it, as trial and error can damage the engine.

It depends on the year. If you have an older buick park avenue and it has a distributor, yes you can adjust it as long as you have a timing light. If it's a new park avenue, no you can't at home.

It is possible to check and adjust your timing on some vehicles. However some cars have to be electronically adjusted. If you have an older model car with a distributor all u need is a timing light. Look up what the timing should and use the light to check it.

If you do not know how to do this or if it's possible, you shouldn't be messing with it. The timing is more than likely not adjustable.

All years of Buick Park Avenue have a distributorless ignition system, where the timing advance is controlled by the car's engine control module. It cannot be manually adjusted or checked. A technician at a GM dealership can check the timing advance with a TECH II scanner, and reflash the engine control module if needed.
