Can syphilis be passed to another if it was treated a year before contact and was also dormant?

I was with someone who has syphilis. About a year before I had sex with her, she was treated in its early stage. It's been more than a year since I have been with her. I have had no symptoms at all. Is it still possible to have it?

Although your partner may have been treated during the early stages of syphilis, you should still get yourself checked out, as symptoms do not always arise with infection.

It usually takes ten to ninety days or an average of twenty-one days, before the first symptom will appear, which is a sore at the source of the infection. If you are concerned, even though you show no symptoms, a simple blood test will tell you if you are infected.

Syphilis is usually easily treated with antibiotics, especially in the early stage. Looking at the timeline between her syphilis and your sex with her, you should not have syphilis.

I just talked with her, She asked her Dr about. He said the numbers in her body were too low for it to pass. Impossible were his words. Its in her blood but cant pass it. If she is exposed to it again then she can pass it.  add a comment

It is possible that you have it and that you are asymptomatic. Call the Health Department for a free clinic when you can be tested anonymously.
