Can I use dish soap to wash a car?

My husband and I are having an argument over this issue.

I'm assuming that you mean the exterior, but dish soap and warm water with a large sponge will work fine to clean your car. It may be streakier than the specialty items used to clean show cars, so be sure to use a chamois after you rinse.

People have been known to use Joy dishwashing liquid to wash their cars ad tires. It is a less abrasvie soap than most. It was used for years to wash cars before all the new products came out so I see no reason why not. Plus it makes your tires blacker than normal washing.

You could wash your car with dish soap however it is harsher than car washing soap. It can actually cause damage to your paint.
