Question by  elsewhen (627)

Can I return a new car if I don't like it?

Nothing is wrong with it, but do new cars have a satisfaction guarantee?

It depends on the manufacturer you buy it from and the state you buy it in. In general, the answer is no, as soon as you drive it off the lot, it's yours. Some states have 'cooling off' periods in which you can return (very few though) and some Dealers (Saturn) are more likely to deal with a return.

Some cars have satisfaction guarantees, it depends on the contract and the amount of wear and tear that has been done to the car. You should look at the owners agreement in order to specifically determine if this car can be returned.

Yes you can return a new car. You have three days from the date of purchase to return it to the dealership. Of course it must be in the same condition as when you took it off the lot. As a consumer, the satisfaction guarantee applies for new or used items. It's also good customer service.

You can only return a new car if your state honors the right of rescission. There are some states such as Arizona that do honor that.  add a comment
