Can I mix furniture styles in one room?

I have more of an ecliptic style and do not like matchy furniture.

You can absolutely use an eclectic style with your home furnishings. You may try to come up with a theme for your room -- comfortable, or classic -- but your furniture does not need to match. In the end, your room is yours; it should say something about you and be a place that you can enjoy!

Yes. In home decor, the rule is, if you like it you can use it. If you want a more "decorated" look, think about how you use color such as in upholstery, paint, carpet, etc. An eclectic look allows you to add to your collection over time instead of having to replace everything because a new style has become popular.

As long as you are happy with the result, it doesn't matter that the styles don't match. Some people actually recommend mixing styles, creating a 'fusion' look.

Eclectic Style is actually considered one of the major styles. There are many people out there like yourself that don't like to match. It's perfectly fine to mix and match your furniture in the same room.
