Your lawyer can advise you on this matter. There are a lot of considerations that go into the decision of what type of bankruptcy to file. Filing Chpt 13 does not necessarily make you eligible for Chpt 7.

You can convert your bankruptcy, however it is very costly and you may delay your discharge due to the additional questions that will arise from the change of the bankruptcy.

You can convert your Chapter 13 to a Chapter 7 by refiling the paperwork and start the process again. You will be required to pay any additional fees for the filing.

Yes, generally you can. If the reason for filing Chapter 13 no longer exists, it may make sense to convert. Remember, Chapter 7 is liquidation. So, any property that is not exempt under the bankruptcy code could be sold to pay creditors. You must get court permission. Consult your attorney to review the pros and cons.
