It depends. The best way to find out is to ask the HR department of the specific airline. It also depends on the crime and the circumstances at the time. There is no one, flat policy.

It would be difficult, especially in this climate. Most airlines do not hire flight attendants if they have a criminal record. Background checks are now a standard part of the process. If you can, have someone advocate on your behalf. If you received any help getting a job, that person may be able to vouch for you.

Technically yes you can but it is very unlikely because even regional airlines will occasionally stop in Canada. If your plane stops in Canada they might pull your record and you may have to pay a fine delaying the flight not something airlines want to risk happening.

Yes, you can get hired with a misdemeanor. I know several with previous petty charges and even dui's that were a few years old. If you have more than one or a felony you are unable to get a job as a Flight attendant

The flight attendant is an important and sensitive post. they are responsible for the lives in there care. each attendant must be bonded and cleared through home land security. if you have a record, your chances are slim due to competition for the job.

Usually not. The major airlines are very cautious about who they hire, as well they should be. Flight attendants are now trained in certain Homeland Security techniques, so their background is vetted before they are even hired. Perhaps a smaller, regional airline will hire you, but you can cross the major airlines off your list.

one with the criminal record can not become a flight attendant because a flight carrier is responsible for transporting the passengers and their valuable belongings to their required destinations safely.

Can you elaborate? I have been hired with United as a flight attendant and have a misdemeanor DUI. They complete the background check the first week of training. I need to be upfront with them but I want to know my chances of keeping the job.  add a comment

If you have only misdemeanors, then yes, but if you are convicted of a felony, it is very doubtful you can.

Transport security clearance is a FAA airport employee requirement for all employees that can access restricted areas in any airport. This is not just in NA it’s required everywhere. If you have been convicted 20 yrs ago and have a pardon, It will still show up, best of luck :)
