Definitely. Any alteration in the oestrogen-progesterone balance will affect the occurance of normal menstruation. Higher levels of the latter may predispose to late or missed periods and the converse is also invariably true.

Harmonal changes does not have any impact on late or missed periods. But many consider it as one of the main reasons for it which is quite wrong.
