Dogs are able to get tetanus. Puncture wounds are particularly susceptible to tetanus. Symptoms can include sensitivity to light, lock jaw and sunken eyes. As the disease progresses it can include stiffness and muscle spasms. If tetanus is caught early it is usually not fatal.

Dogs can indeed get tetanus, but they are particularly resistant to this virus that causes it. A starting symptom is progressive muscle contractions. Tetanus also presents itself with some uneasiness, headaches which would be hard to see, and irritability.
