Depending on when you found out about your Lyme disease you may take antibiotics to treat the disease. The antibiotics are the most effective when you are in the early stages of the disease, but can still be helpful throughout the course of the disease. The antibiotics given will kill the bacteria that causes the disease in its early stages.

Chronic Lyme disease must be treated with antibiotics. Treatment lasts from 14 to 30 days without missing dosage. The disease will spread to the heart, nervous system without proper treatment.
