Oh, yes, cats can certainly sense the emotions of their owners, especially the negative ones; they are extremely sensitive creatures. The cat probably wants to comfort you and does not know how, and he or she may also feel in danger as his protector, you, does not fell as safe.

Yes, most animals can sense when people are stressed out. Cats have a very good sense of smell and it is thought that they can smell our stress hormones. They can also read our body language.

Yes. Your body posture and general behavior changes a lot when you are stressed, anxious, or nervous. Your body also releases different hormones which cats can sense.

When I have a hectic day, which makes me quite blue sometimes, my cat always tends to give me more affection than normal. The lovable little thing just lies around when I do, sits on my lap when I am watching television and just follows me around everyone. Purring incessantly, of course!

Yes. All animals sense ALL of your feelings. A lot of times if you're stressed your cat will start to become worried or will act in a way that isn't common for him. If you're sad he will probably try to comfort you.

Yes, most animals can sense when something is wrong, especially domesticated animals like dogs and cats. Dogs and cats pick up on human feelings and emotions and react very strongly to them. When a person gets really stressed out or unhappy, generally the animal with follow their lead and also feel that way.
