Alcohol is a substance that can be harmful to the body. It can cause your body to become dizzy, lightheaded, nauseated, and impaired. In doing all of this your heart rate could slow down significantly when a lot is consumed or even very little. Therefore, alcohol could very well trigger tachycardia.

Sorry to disagreed, but slow heart rate is bradycardia. Tachycardia may be triggered by alcohol, as it may impair the electrical impulses.  add a comment

Tachycardia is an unusually high heart rate. Since alcohol affects many different parts of your body in many different ways, I would think that it could indeed trigger a bout of tachycardia. Too much alcohol can cause you to become hypersensitive to your surroundings and cause your heart to race.

Over consumption of alcohol can affect th heart in a number of ways, including tachycardia. Even the effects of a hangover, such as vomiting and dehydration can impair heart function and result in a heart attack. Use moderation when drinking and hydrate your body by drinking a glass of water between each cocktail.
