Can a labret piercing cause a loss of gums?

The labret pushes up against the gums and over time of moving over the gums can wear them down or make them sore.

A labret piercing can cause some gum deterioration. This is mainly due to the back of the jewelry rubbing on the gums and on the lip.

YES. i actually had a labret for 2 years. it can cause receeding of the gums becuase of the irritation. I took mine out because of it

Yes it can. I had one about 5 years ago and the bar was to long and it rubbed against my gums and caused them to get low.
