Most red wine should simply be served at room temperature. White wine, one the other hand, should mostly be served chilled.

Red wine should be served unchilled. This assumes that the room is 70 degrees or less. In a warmer room, the wine needs to be kept in a cooler place.

Red wine should be served just slightly chilled. If you are having it for dinner, put the bottle in the refrigerator just before the food is ready. By the time the food is served, the wine will be ready as well.

It's always preferred to serve red wine cold from fridge. If you gonna serve it warm it's not gonna test as it should and you will not be pleased with your drink. Try to keep at least an hour in fridge before serving. If there is no fridge try to keep under cold water or in ice.
