Auditory hallucinations are perceptions of sounds, usually voices, that are not actually happening. These voices may be called command hallucinations if they are telling the person to do something. Auditory hallucinations can seem like thoughts when explained to others, but the person who reports them experiences them as very real.

No, although this is a matter of perception and therefore not objectively definable. Audio hallucinations come with the sense that they're external messages, usually destructive or at least distracting.

Not necessarily. Generally during a thought you think words but do not actually "hear" them out loud. Audio hallucinations involve literally hearing sounds that aren't there.

Thoughts are not auditory hallucinations; they are delusions. Delusional thinking is when a persont thinks something that is not true, such as they are God. Auditory hallucinations are when a person believes that they hear things (voices, sounds) that others cannot hear.
