In the Hawaii waters, about forty species of sharks are found. About eight of these are found in nearshore waters. Only a few of these have been known to attack humans. Most identified attacks were made by tiger sharks, hammerheads have also attacked humans when provoked. White sharks are rarely seen in Hawaii waters.
There are sharks in Hawaii. There are Reef, Tiger, Gray, Blacktip Reef, Sandbar sharks, Silky sharks, and quite a few more species are native to the Pacific Ocean around Hawaii.
