Are there medications that will disqualify me from joining the army?

Yes, some medications will prevent you from joining the military. Any medications that you require to survive on a day to day basis and cannot live without will disbar you from joining the military. Additionally, there is a long list of medical conditions that will also prevent you from joining the military including any psychotic disorder and many mental disorders.

If they find out you took Attention Deficit Disorder medications even if it was years ago, then you cannot be accepted for military service. Those medications are Adderall, Concerta, Vyvanse, and Ritalin.

The medications themselves, assuming that they were prescribed by a doctor, will not disqualify you, but the underlying condition for which you have to take them might. You have to be in excellent physical and mental health to join the army.
