Are there any risks associated with wisdom tooth removal from a nursing mother?

The procedure is safe in nursing mothers. However if antibiotics or pain killers are given they should be compatible with breast feeding.

Make sure you have help with the baby for a couple of days. Let the oral surgeon know you are breastfeeding, so medications will be appropriate. Otherwise not very risky.

Any medication, such as the antibotics and pain killers that are prescribed after the procedure, can be passed through the milk and onto the baby.

When ever you are nursing,the medications you take will be found in your milk, out what they will be using and talk to your baby's doctor about it.

There shouldn't be adverse effects on your baby. In fact, the stress of having a painful wisdom tooth will probably be more damaging.
