You should definitely go to a muffler shop if you need to replace your muffler. They have a wide range of options, so will almost certainly have the muffler you need in stock. They also tend to offer excellent warranties, and they'll do a good job, since they're experts in work on mufflers.

I would say so, most specialty stores sell items at a more affordable price as well as being more versed in both quality and selection. The pit fall of most universal auto stores is that they tend to have a poor selection or run out of stock often as they sell many different items.

muffler shops will often time try to charge their customers for work that doesnt need to be done. A better place would the dealership where your car was made.
