Are horizontal cooking smokers good?

The design of a horizontal cooking smoker is good but not all smokers are built the same. A lot of professional barbecue cooks use this layout. It allows you to smoke a good amount of food slower than a horizontal model. Just make sure to buy a quality one.

In my personal oppion they are not. You have to watch it all the time. Sometimes the wood chips will catch on fire. The food is not that good even if you do everthing right. I would say save your money and take your family out to eat. The work is not worth the reward "which is poorly tasting food".
