Are child rings safe?

I want to get one for my baby godchild in honor of her baptism.

No, they are a choking hazard. If you want to give jewelry as a lasting present, you could purchase a charm bracelet and add a charm each year. The child could begin wearing the bracelet after age 5 or so, and would still have the symbolism of marking important events.

Baby rings can be a choking hazard for small children. It can be saved to wear on a chain as the child grows, or worn for pictures, but should not be worn every day.

A child's ring is something that is more of keepsake than anything else. It would not be a good idea to leave a small child alone wearing jewelry, as it is a choking hazard. The ring could be worn only for special occasions and under proper supervision until the child is older.

Child rings are not safe for children who are under the age of 5 for fear that they will put the ring into their mouth and choke on it.
